Can I plug a hot tub into a regular outlet?+
No. Most hot tubs require a dedicated 240V circuit with a 50A or 60A breaker. Plug-and-play models exist, but they heat slowly and still need a dedicated 120V GFCI circuit. We size the circuit to match your tub's nameplate requirements.
What is bonding and why does my pool need it?+
Bonding connects all metal parts—ladders, rails, pump motors, light housings—with a copper wire to equalize voltage and prevent shock. It's required by code for any pool or spa installation, and inspectors will check it.
Do I need to upgrade my electrical panel for a hot tub?+
It depends on your current panel capacity. A typical hot tub draws 40 to 60 amps. If your panel is near capacity or still uses fuses, an upgrade may be necessary. We assess this during the site visit.
